Kelsie Clark, a native of Chapman, KS, developed a love of music at an early age. At five years old, she began piano lessons, quickly followed by voice lessons. Through out her life she has learned to play many instruments trombone, flute, ukulele, bass guitar and accordion. Kelsie began her musical theatre career while obtaining her Theatre and Film Degree from the University of Kansas. She graduated in 2008, and not long after, moved out to Los Angeles.
While living in Los Angeles, Kelsie studied sketch comedy writing and stand up comedy. Kelsie was thrilled to be chosen as a featured extra in Michael Bay’s film, Pain and Gain. She can be seen featured in the courtroom scene at the end of the film with the funny and forever charming Rebel Wilson. It was a privilege to work with Michael Bay himself!
Kelsie traveled as a Dueling Piano Player from 2008 to 2014 before deciding to take a break and settle down in Kansas City! You may have seen her at Ernie Biggs Westport & Branson or at Sgt. Pepper’s in Long Beach, CA.
Some of her favorite roles include: Sandra in Big Fish the Musical, Rose in Dogfight the Musical, Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Evelyn in The Shape of Things, Meg in Little Women, Regan in The Bachelorette, Angelique in The Imaginary Invalid, Dina in School House Rock Live, Cinderella in Roger’s and Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Eve in Stephen Schwartz’s Children of Eden, Susan in [title of show], Eva Peron in Evita, Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde, Brenda in Catch Me If You Can, and Lucy the Slut in Avenue Q.
An accomplished musical theatre director, Kelsie’s musical directing credits include: Little Shop of Horrors with Lamplight Theatre in Amarillo, TX, Spring Awakening at The Barn Players. West Side Story, Big River, Honk!, High School Musical and Hairspray with The Culture House in Olathe, KS. In 2015, Kelsie directed her first full scale musical, The Little Mermaid at The Culture House with a cast of 80 kids, ages 7 -19 years old.
Kelsie has had extensive experience teaching acting, music and directing theatre camps through The Culture House in Olathe, KS. She can now be found teaching music, theatre, music history and public speaking at The Daniel Academy in Kansas City, MO.
Kelsie is an established voice over artist in Kansas City. She is the voice of the audio book 21 Ways to Find Mr. Right and she has booked such clients as Havertys, Goodman & Sons Jewelers, Landmark Bank, Worth Harley Davidson North, Hallmark, Bakers University, St. Mary’s, BMW San Francisco, BancAbility, Phiten, Studio 7 Casino, Valley View Financial, Winks Body Shop, CASA, Furniture Deals and MOCSA.
In 2016, Kelsie fulfilled a lifelong dream and released her first album Coming Up for Air, available on iTunes.
Inspired by her two year old son, Reginald, Kelsie is working on a record of lullabies. She is also working on a record of original spoken word poems.
